Ohloh Project Analysis
ExegeticaIn a nutshell, I have envisioned Exegetica to include a comprehensive set of collaborative Bible study tools for user-created study groups online. Notes and other group- or user-generated content can be selectively shared or hidden from the public or other groups. A "supergroup" of sorts could also be created in which all subgroups shared common notes and resources. The basic scripture database has been implemented; however, this project has yet to gain any serious traction. Feature Ideas include: Inductive Bible study tools (based off the Precept inductive Bible study method) Marking and highlighting for any group of characters or phrases Dynamically created discussion feature for any of the marked or highlighted content Commentary system If you are interested in contributing to this project, please e-mail the lead developer at exegetica-at-gmail-dot-com. A word from the Lead Developer:My name is Brian Bowden, and I am a senior in Computer Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. My concentration is in Scientific Applications, and I am preparing to attend the university's Graduate School of Computational Engineering. I have spent several years as a high school geek and college student developing web applications, and I wanted to develop a project that would be fun, educational, and benefit my fellow believers in Christ. Any assistance with this project will be welcomed. Just like most others who develop open source software, I have work that takes priority over this project. However, if interest is shown in furthering this project's development, I will devote as much time as possible to help those who have also donated time and effort.
